Mitel's broad portfolio of solutions provides advanced voice, video and data communication platforms; desktop phones and Internet appliances; intuitive applications for customer relationship management (CRM); and solutions for mobility, messaging and multimedia collaboration.
 

Business Need:
Mitel had been using a suite of IBM WebSphere applications for software development, but it had no tool for identifying performance bottlenecks among the solutions or determining if the applications would need additional hardware capacity to support new development projects. The company wanted a solution that would help it gain a better picture of its 8,000-user WebSphere environment and optimize its IT resources.
 

Solution:
Mitel aligned with IBM Business Partner OpenDemand Systems, Inc. (OpenDemand) and installed the company's OpenLoad automated performance-testing solution onto the client's WebSphere environment. Without scripting, the OpenLoad product suite executes load and stress testing for Web-based applications, such as WebSphere development solutions.

OpenDemand built its OpenLoad software on the IBM WebSphere Application Server platform, so Mitel also implemented IBM WebSphere Application Server - Express V6 software. The WebSphere platform provides the testing suite with a solid service-oriented architecture (SOA) foundation and seamless integration with the existing WebSphere applications. In addition, WebSphere Application Server software enables the quick and efficient development, deployment and management of Web sites, such as those created with WebSphere products.

By implementing the OpenLoad product suite powered by the WebSphere Application Server platform, Mitel saves time and money through automated testing for performance bottlenecks and workload capacity.
